A bevy of Belgian visitors, including a Flemish cultural minister, swept through some of UC Berkeley’s libraries during a visit last week. After a tour of the campus, a group led by Sven Gatz, minister for Culture, Youth, Media, and Brussels in the Flemish government, took a tour of the Doe and Moffitt libraries. Gatz was joined by six members of the ministry. Steve Mendoza, selector for Dutch collections at the UC Berkeley Library, guided the tour, which, he said, was meant to provide “a sense of the scope of resources we offer our students and faculty” and to show part of the “amazing range of activity taking place in the Library around research and learning.”
