The University Library at UC Berkeley today introduces Library News, a new website dedicated to telling our story. Library News features photos, videos, and stories that highlight the services, spaces, and people who serve the scholars at UC Berkeley and around the world.

Library News aims to communicate the Library’s value as a partner and a teacher for students, faculty members, and the community. The website shares Library activities and accomplishments in an effort to inform, engage, and inspire. This website fulfills one of the Library’s four key directions: to tell our story to build community and cultivate relationships, part of the organization’s strategic plan

“To serve our users, we need to let people know what we can do for them, and what resources we have for them to use,” University Librarian Jeffrey MacKie-Mason said. “And in this era of declining public support, we need to let potential supporters know about how the Library helps make this great university great.”

In addition to Library News, interactive, in-depth stories that cover the Library’s vast and dynamic initiatives can be found on Library Stories
